Bono East Regional capital, Techiman has topped all districts by recording the highest total number of NHIS membership mobile renewals for October, 2021 by dialing *929#.
In the order of rankings, the Techiman district bagged 12,564 NHIS membership mobile renewals, followed by Ga in the Greater Accra Region with 11,239 and Manhyia in the Ashanti Region recording 10,546 respectively.
Grading the best 20 out of 175 operational NHIS Districts by ratio of mobile renewals to total renewals for October 2021, Yilo Krobo district in the East Region surpassed the rest with 96.6 percent.
Talensi Nabdam district in the Upper East Region occupied the second position with 96.3 percent followed by Afigya Sekyere in the Ashanti Region recording 96.1 percent.
For the top 20 ranking by cumulative NHIS membership mobile renewals from January 2019 to October 2021, Ga district topped the chart with 341,933 followed by Techiman in Bono East with 329,730.
Manhyia in the Ashanti came third with 288,874 while Tema in Greater Accra occupied the fourth position with 281,968.
With 40 percent, Saboba/Chereponi in the Northern Region topped the list of top ranking by percentage change in mobile renewals registration from September 2021 to October 2021, meaning a lot more effort was employed to gain more renewals than any other district in the country.
Karaga district in the Northern Region and Aowin-Suaman district in Western North had a tie of 36 percent respectively.
Except the Upper East Region, all other regions recorded increases in NHIS membership mobile renewal enrolment between the months of September 2021 and October 2021.
Children under 18 category have consistently recorded the highest number of mobile renewals followed by the Informal category.
The informal sector category are mostly members who pay annual contributions (premiums) of approximately Ghc30 and are not SSNIT contributors.
