The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Northern
Regional office took advantage of the 2025 Damba festival celebrations and
recorded nearly sixteen thousand (16000) new enrolments and expired membership
renewals, across the Dagbon and Nanung traditional areas.
A special taskforce led by the Acting Regional Director, Mr.
Alhassan Abdulai joined forces with the Dagbon Traditional Council and
generated a total of fifteen thousand eight hundred and twenty seven (15827)
increment and membership renewals of the National Health Insurance Scheme
(NHIS).
The districts frontline teams documented two thousand three
hundred and fifty five (2355) fresh members and thirteen thousand four hundred
and seventy two (13472) renewals.
They stationed at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, Gnani,
Lamashiegu, Kanvili, Gushiegu, Pishigu, Yooyili, Bimbila and Wulensi chiefs
palaces among others.
The teams educated people on the Scheme’s Benefit Package,
MyNHIS App and Mobile Renewal platform practice, and how to merge the NHIS and
Ghana cards.
Mr. Alhassan Abdulai highly praised the remarkable
achievement and encouraged the district management teams to sustain the
momentum and ultimately attain their annual membership increment targets at the
end of 2025.
