A prominent chief in the Dagbon traditional area, the
Pishigu Lana, Dr. Alhassan Andani, has generously paid for the enrollment of
one thousand people onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The beneficiaries included the destitute in several
communities within the Karaga district in the Northern Region.
The charity formed part of activities marking the 2025 Damba
festivities celebrated across the Dagbon traditional area and other parts of
Northern Ghana.
The astute banker, entrepreneur and revered traditional
leader, Dr. Alhassan Andani, demonstrated his kindheartedness when the National
Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Acting Northern Regional Director, Mr.
Alhassan Abdulai, paid a courtesy call on him in his palace.
Naa Dr. Alhassan Andani supported Executive Management’s
push for an end to the illegal charges for services covered by the NHIS Benefit
Package.
The Ag. Regional Director, Mr. Alhassan Abdulai, appreciated
Naa Adani’s visionary leadership and reiterated the NHIA Chief Executive, Dr.
Victor Asare Bampoe’s vision to rebuild public confidence in the NHIS.
