All of the sixty (60)
children of the Saviour Children’s Orphanage in Kasoa have been enrolled onto
the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The NHIS Awutu Senya
East District Office in partnership with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)
known as The Q-Initiative provided the free registration and health screening
benevolent assistance.
The National Health
Insurance Authority (NHIA), Executive Management approved the Q-Initiative’s
application for the exercise.
The school’s
management and caregivers were educated on the NHIS expanded Benefit Package,
members rights and responsibilities, the digital platforms such as MyNHIS App,
the Mobile Renewal Service short code *929# and linking the NHIS and Ghana
cards.
The NHIA Central
Regional Acting Director, Mr. Kojo Sekyere Koi Thompson and the management of
the Awutu Senya District Office are planning to extend the free enrolment to
the pupils and staff of the Saviour Children’s Charity School.
The Awutu Senya
District Office partnership with The Q-Initiative affirmed the Authority’s
commitment to protecting the health needs of the vulnerable populations.
