The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in the Assin North District on February 21, 2023, received a new vehicle to augment its operations within the metropolis.
The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Chief Executive, Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye handed over the vehicle to the district during his working visit to the Central Region.
He was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Administration and Human Resources, Yaa Pokuaa Baiden (Mrs.) and the Deputy Chief Executive, Operations, Vivian Addo-Cobbiah (Mrs.) as well as some Directors, Deputy Directors, Regional Office and staff from the NHIA Head Office.
The Assin North NHIS District Manager, Emmanuel Akuamoah thanked executive management of the NHIA for responding to their needs and pledged to use the vehicle for its intended purpose.
The Assin North Municipal Assembly Presiding Officer, Mr. Kwaku Addo renewed the assembly members commitment to help in increasing the NHIS active membership in their electoral areas.
The Chief Executive, Dr. Okoe-Boye’s delegation further visited the Abura Asebu Kwamankese (AAK) NHIS district office where he interacted with staff and applauded them for their hardwork towards attaining Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by the year 2030.
The team inspected work done on the ongoing Abura Asebu Kwamankese NHIS District office complex, which is about 90 percent.
The team later visited some NHIS provider sites, including the Cape Coast Government Hospital and the St. Francis Xavier Hospital where Dr. Okoe Boye had his housemanship several years ago.
The NHIA Boss praised the management of the two medical facilities and stated, “We thank you for serving our members. We depend on you as you also depend on us.”
