NHIA Tamale Claims Processing Centre (CPC) Holds Stakeholder Engagement Meeting with Credentialed Healthcare Providers in the Upper West Region | 11/18/2024

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Tamale Claims Processing Centre (CPC), organized a stakeholder engagement meeting with healthcare providers on November 7, 2024, at Dellagio Hotel in Wa.

 

The meeting aimed to foster an interactive platform for the NHIA and credentialed healthcare facilities in the region to discuss the claims management process, provide post-deployment support for the Claim-it system, address concerns related to claims generation, submission, and processing, and gather stakeholder feedback on claims-related issues.

 

In his welcome address, the NHIA Upper West Regional Director, Mr. Samuel Lobber Lekamwe, welcomed all participants and highlighted that the meeting would equip them with essential knowledge on efficient claims generation and submission. He encouraged active participation to ensure a productive discussion.

 

The Director of CPC Tamale, Mr. Isaac Gideon Akonde, shared that the purpose of the meeting was to exchange insights and successes in claims management with stakeholders. He noted that feedback from providers would help improve the operations of CPC Tamale.

 

Representing the Upper West Regional Director of Health Services, Mr. Emmanuel Galenku emphasized the importance of effective claims management for the sustainability of the NHIS and commended the NHIS for its digital advancements in electronic claims management.The NHIA Director of Claims, Dr. Mrs.

 

Abigail Nyarko Codjoe Derkye-Kwarteng, on behalf of the Executive Management, expressed gratitude to all participants for attending the meeting. She emphasized the importance of constructive discussions to enhance the success of the engagement.Northern Belt Director and Chairman of the meeting, Mr. Titus Sorey, underscored the purpose of the engagement in improving claims management processes and urged all stakeholders to participate actively. 

 

The NHIA Head Office and CPC team in attendance included Dr. Mrs. Abigail Nyarko Codjoe Derkye-Kwarteng, Director of Claims; Mr. Thomas Adoboe, Deputy Director MIS in charge of CPCs; Mrs. Nadia Serwaa Antwi, Manager of the Quality Assurance Directorate; Mr. Eric Kobla Nazar, Manager of the E-Claims Support Unit; Mr. Titus Sorey, Northern Belt Director; and Mr. Isaac Gideon Akonde, Director of Tamale CPC, along with other CPC Tamale staff.

 

Also present were representatives from the Upper West Regional Health Services, District Health Directors, healthcare facility representatives, the NHIA Regional Director, Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO), Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager, and several NHIA District Managers.

 

The meeting included presentations by Mrs. Nadia Antwi on electronic credentialing processes and post-deployment issues; Mr. Eric Kobla Nazar on electronic claims management, updates, issues, and support; and Mr. Isaac Gideon Akonde on claims processing at the CPC and reasons for adjustments. The open forum session allowed participants to share suggestions and engage in meaningful discussions, with responses provided to clarify questions raised.
