NHIA Savannah Regional Office launches Pulpit Initiative | 6/3/2024

The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Customer  Experience Point, known as the Pulpit Initiative, has been mounted at the West Gonja District Hospital in Damango, in the Savannah Region.

The hospital’s management was prepped on the objective of the Pulpit Initiative is to enhance NHIS members positive experience, whilst seeking healthcare at credentialed facilities.

As initiated by Executive Management, the innovation also aims at eliminating illegal payments (extortions) by NHIS members for services covered by the Scheme.

Aside from responding to the immediate concerns of the Scheme’s members, they are assisted in renewing their expired membership, linking their Ghana and NHIS Cards.

Some NHIS members whose complaints were resolved through the initiative expressed their satisfaction and lauded the initiative.

The Customer Service Point is manned by two staff of the NHIS and serves as the first point of contact for NHIS members who have legitimate concerns that require immediate resolutions. The Pulpit Initiative is expected to be replicated in all NHIA credentialled health facilities in the region.
