The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), through its Research, Policy, Monitoring and Evaluation (RPME) Directorate, has held a two-day workshop to develop its 2026 Programme of Work (POW).

The event, which took place from November 3–4, 2025, in the Ashanti Region, brought together 75 participants, including Regional Directors, Regional Operations Officers, Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Heads of Directorates, and focal persons from various directorates at the Head Office.

The sessions focused on collaboratively formulating the 2026 Programme of Work and strengthening institutional capacity for evidence-based planning and efficient service delivery.

Delivering the opening remarks on behalf of the Deputy Chief Executive (Operations), Dr. Kwesi Senanu Djokoto, the Acting Director for RPME, Mr. Suleymana Abass, outlined the key objectives of the workshop. These included reviewing the 2025 Programme of Work, formulating the 2026 plan, and ensuring alignment with the National Development Plan (NDP), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda. He reaffirmed NHIA’s commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage through innovation, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making. “Our focus for 2026 is clear — smarter systems, stronger partnerships, and sustainable healthcare for all,” he added.

The Acting Ashanti Regional Director, Mr Mohammed Miniru Muntaka, in his welcome address, urged participants to remain focused and contribute meaningfully to shaping the Authority’s strategic priorities for the coming year.
