NHIA Partners Central Expo 2025 | 9/1/2025

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) is participating in this year’s Central Expo 2025, taking place from August 23 to 30, 2025 at the Adisadel College Park in Cape Coast.

The annual trade fair, themed “Unlocking Business Opportunities in the Central Region,” is expected to draw thousands of exhibitors and visitors, creating a platform for corporate visibility, investment promotion, and partnership development.

Speaking on the Authority’s participation, NHIA’s Acting Central Regional Director, Mr. Kojo Koi Thompson, said the Expo offers a strategic opportunity for the Scheme to engage directly with the public. “The NHIS mandate at all times is to ensure that wherever people are, we create awareness and encourage them to register and renew their membership. We have a big target to achieve Universal Health Coverage, which is why management considered it wise to leverage this gathering to make the name of NHIS resound among the people of Ghana,” he explained.

Mr. Thompson added that the NHIA team would also use the Expo to address concerns such as illegal charges at health facilities, while educating the public on convenient renewal and registration options through the MyNHIS App and the 929# auto-renewal service.

The Deputy Director for Marketing and Branding at the NHIA’s Corporate Affairs Directorate, Ms. Angela Joyce Asiedu, also outlined the Authority’s expectations for the week-long event. “It is our expectation that at the end of the nine-day Expo, we would have signed up more members into the Scheme, strengthened the confidence people have in the NHIS, and reinforced the message that the Scheme is here for the people,” she said.

She added: “It is a week of educating members of society to better understand the mandate of the NHIS.” Through its sponsorship and active participation, the NHIA is demonstrating its commitment to deepening public trust, expanding membership, and advancing Ghana’s goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage.
