National Health Insurance Scheme

Our Members concerns and experience will be at the center of our operations" NHIA boss|2/1/2018

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority Dr. Samuel Annor has intimated that the introduction of the Ghana Card will help the scheme focus more on ensuring members have quality healthcare at health centres.

He added that NHIS operations will shift from registering and renewals of membership to taking better care of our members. The NHIA CEO said this when he was addressing the OPD area of the Kumasi South Hospital in the Ashanti Region.

‘We will intensify our public education and marketing activities to ensure that the satisfaction of our members is paramount. 'We will place staff at some key health facilities to assist our members to have a better experience and to resolve all their concerns." Dr. Annor revealed.

The new technology which is developed and piloted by the NHIA and the ILO, will afford members to use their mobile phones to renew their NHIS membership.

Dr. Samuel Annor also used the occasion to officially hand over an information desk to the hospital. The information desk which was funded by the NHIS district office in Asokwa is expected to provide members with firsthand information on NHIS related issues, resolve complaints by members and help members experience better healthcare while using the card. The information desk will be replicated in major health facilities across the country.

The Chief Executive together with some directors of the authority is on a nationwide working tour of the country.
