National Health Insurance Scheme



Management and staff of the National Health Insurance Authority on January 27, 2019 held its maiden Thanksgiving Church Service at the First Love Light House Chapel International, Bawaleshie to thank God for His grace and mercies on the organization as an institution and for ushering them into the year 2019.

The Chief Executive Officer of the NHIA Dr. Samuel Yaw Annor said the Authority deemed it important thank the Lord for the significant improvements it achieved in its line of work for the year 2018. He mentioned the introduction of the mobile renewal service, E-receipting and the clearance of claims arrears as part of the many successes that the NHIA chalked last year.

Addressing the media after the service, the NHIA Boss, hinted that plans were underway to allocate a number of NHIA staff to various health facilities to provide customer care services such as educating members who visit the facilities about the medicines list, rights and responsibilities and the benefit package available to members.

He also cautioned providers against unauthorized fees demanded from NHIS members at the various facilities. The founder and Presiding Bishop of the Light House Chapel International, Bishop Dag-Hewald Mills expressed gratitude to Government for establishing the NHIS which provides basic quality healthcare to the people living in Ghana.  After thanking God for how far he has brought the scheme Bishop Dag prayed that the NHIA will be a good example for all in Africa Ghana.

The Thanksgiving Service was also graced by the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Operations, Dr. Lydia Dsane-Selby and the Deputy Chief Executive, HR & Administration, Mrs. Yaa Pokuaa Baiden. Directors and staff of the NHIA attended the event in their numbers.A total of ( 41)forty one new members from the First love Light House Chapel International were registered onto the Nationa Health Insurance Scheme
